Myrtle House Nursery Takes on Barnardo's The Big Toddle 2026!

At Myrtle House Nursery, we are always looking for exciting ways to combine learning, physical activity and supporting worthwhile causes. This year, our children had a fantastic time taking part in Barnardo's The Big Toddle 2026, raising money to help support vulnerable children and families across the UK.

A Safari Adventure Through Our Gardens

To make this year's Big Toddle extra special, we transformed our outdoor gardens into a wonderful safari adventure. Hidden amongst the trees, bushes and play areas were a variety of safari animals waiting to be discovered.

Armed with their enthusiasm and curiosity, the children set off on their adventure, walking, exploring and searching for lions, elephants, giraffes, monkeys and many more exciting creatures. Every new discovery brought smiles, laughter and plenty of excitement as they worked together to spot each hidden animal.

The activity encouraged the children to stay active while developing their observation skills, communication, confidence and teamwork—all through the joy of play.

Enjoying the Great Outdoors

The warm weather made it the perfect opportunity to spend even more time outside. Alongside the safari trail, the children enjoyed cooling off with water play and challenging themselves on the climbing frames.

Outdoor play is an important part of life at Myrtle House Nursery. It supports children's physical development, builds confidence, encourages imaginative play and provides endless opportunities for learning through exploration.

Supporting an Amazing Cause

The Big Toddle is one of Barnardo's most popular fundraising events, bringing together thousands of young children from nurseries, schools and childcare settings across the country. Every step taken helps raise vital funds to support children and young people who need it most.

We are incredibly proud of all of our children for taking part with such enthusiasm and determination.
